For 2022 we are offering two water sports program opportunities:

  • Water Sports Days on Echo Lake
  • Individual Skills Sessions on Whitefish Lake

2022 Program Opportunities

Registration will open May 15 for the 2022 season!

Enjoy some relaxing time in the shade of the Thompson’s property and then head down to the docks for some paddling or motorized fun. It’s a “choose your own adventure” program! Adaptive and standard equipment, lunch, and life jackets provided.

Apply by July 1st to reserve a spot. Applications will be accepted after the deadline, but not guaranteed. See registration info below.

Daily Activities include:

  • Water skiing
  • Wakeboarding
  • Kneeboarding
  • Tubing
  • Pontoon Boat Rides
  • Kayaking
  • Paddling boarding

July 19, 20, 21, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • $15 per day for individuals with disabilities.
  • One (1) Parent/Guardian is welcome to attend at no cost to provide additional support.
  • Additional family members will be accommodated if at all possible; the cost is $15 per additional family member.

Important Details

  • This activity will take place at Thompson’s Private Property, Echo Lake in Bigfork (directions will be sent prior to event)
  • Adaptive and standard equipment and life jackets will be provided.
  • Please bring all your personal belongings such as a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, change of clothes, folding camp chair, blanket, etc.
  • Lunch will be provided. If you have a special dietary need, please pack your own lunch. We appreciate your understanding.
  • Please note: There are stairs to get to each dock, however, our team of volunteers will work with participants needing assistance to ensure a safe transfer to the water zones.
  • Porta-johns, handwashing station, and a changing tent on-site.

Join us on Whitefish Lake to learn a new sport or enhance your skills. We’ll offer 1.5 hour private slots for a participant + 1 family member for water skiing, wakeboarding, or wake surfing. We have standard and adaptive equipment available.

Sessions will take place on July 28th and August 4th on Whitefish Lake.

Essential Eligibility Requirements

General EEC
  • Individual lives with a long-term disability and requires specialized instruction or adaptive equipment to recreate outdoors.
  • Individual is 5 years old, or older.
  • Individual is cleared by their doctor to participate in designated activity.
  • While participating with DREAM programs, individual can refrain from risky behavior that pose a threat to themselves and others including: aggressive behavior, ignoring safety precautions identified by instructors, drug/alcohol use, inability to set boundaries
  • pertaining to their physical ability and needs.
  • Individual can contribute to a safe learning environment. Harassment and abusive behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Individual can follow instructions given by instructors independently or with the assistance of a companion*.
  • Individual can wear all protective equipment required for the activity.
  • Individual can manage personal care independently or with the assistance of a companion*.
  • Individual can breathe independently and does not require medical devices to sustain breathing.

DREAM reserves the right to request that a guardian/caregiver be accessible to program staff while the athlete is participating in the program.
* For the use of this document, a companion can be a personal support person, family member, or friend and excludes any and all DREAM instructors or assistants.

Water Sports/Paddle Program-EEC
  • Be able to hold head upright without head/neck support
  • Be able to maintain closed mouth/lips while underwater
  • Be able to turn from face down to face up independently in water, while wearing a properly fitted life vest
  • Have the ability to remain seated and balanced in/on a watercraft (with or without adaptive equipment)
  • Be able to reenter a capsized watercraft independently or with the assistance of others

  • Find and select the 2022 program
  • If you’d like to apply for a financial aid scholarship, at check-out/payment please select “pay later.” Please complete the scholarship application by the deadlines listed on the scholarship page.
  • Military Veterans with a disability will not be charged for the programs.

  • Electronically sign the two separate liability and media release waivers.
    These forms must be completed annually.  Family members and caregivers participating in the program/lesson must also complete these forms.
