Backcountry Adventure in 2023

This program is for advanced skiers/snowboarders with a physical disability and allows them to develop backcountry skills. You’ll be accompanied by trained volunteers (powder hosts) and staff as well as professional guiding support from Great Northern Powder Guides.

2023 Program Opportunities

2023 dates will be announced by November 1, 2022.

The camp typically includes:

  • 3 days of Cat Skiing/Riding in the backcountry w/ Great Northern Powder Guides
  • 2 days at Whitefish Mountain Resort
  • Intro to Avalanche Safety Course
  • Lodging
  • Most meals
  • Transportation (once in Whitefish; hotel shuttle provided)

  • Double Occupancy Room Cost: TBD

  • Fees include all details outlined above.
  • Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required to reserve your space.  This camp fills up fast, so secure your spot ASAP

We teamed up with Great Northern Powder Guides for the ultimate adaptive backcountry experience. Snorkels were recommended!

Steps to Register:

STEP 1

update your
profile information.

  • Once logged in, go to the drop-down menu that asks “What would you like to do?” and select “Step 1: Update My Profile information”
  • Complete ALL fields labeled for “All Users” and “Participants”
  • Missing information may delay your participation. This step helps us plan for a successful and safe experience for all.
STEP 2

register and
pay for lessons.

  • Once logged in, go to the drop-down menu that asks “What would you like to do?” and select “Step 2: Register for a Lesson, Event, or Program”
  • Find and select the 2022 program
  • If you’d like to apply for a financial aid scholarship, at check-out/payment please select “pay later.” Please complete the scholarship application by the deadlines listed on the scholarship page.
  • Military Veterans with a disability will not be charged for the programs.
STEP 3

sign the liability and
media release waiver.

  • Electronically sign the two separate liability and media release waivers.
    These forms must be completed annually.  Family members and caregivers participating in the program/lesson must also complete these forms.
STEP 4

apply for scholarships and
financial aid.
